Local Author Collection

About the Collection

We accept books by authors local to Penn Hills specifically as well as the Pittsburgh area at large.

Our collection includes traditionally published and self-published authors.

The Local Author collection has its own area in the library. If you would like help locating the collection, please feel free to ask us at the front desk!

Criteria for Submission

• The author must live in Penn Hills or the Pittsburgh area, or have lived in the area for a significant length of time.
• The title must adhere to the library’s Collection Development Policy.
• If you are donating the item, hardcover copies are preferred, but not required.
• Adult fiction and nonfiction titles are accepted. We are not accepting teen or children’s books at this time.
• Submission does not guarantee your item will be added to the collection.

How to Submit a Title for Consideration

If you would like to donate a title for consideration, please bring the item to the library or mail the item to us. Please indicate that you are a local author who is donating a title for consideration.

If you would like us to purchase your title, please email us at phlibrary@pennhillslibrary.org with the subject line “Local Author Submission” and include the link for where to purchase your title.
