Better Read Than Dead Book Club

In this book club, we will read and discuss books from the mystery, thriller, and horror genres. explore the haunts of ghosts, vampires, serial killers, murderers, and more!

Examples of books we have read include: A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson, Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll, and Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh.

Graphic Novel Book Club

Join us as we discuss the art and storytelling in various graphic novels. Whether you read graphic novels all the time, or have never read them before, we hope you give it a try!

Examples of books we have read include: A Guest in the House by E.M. Carroll, Amazons, Abolitionists, and Activists by Mikki Kendall, Stamped from the Beginning: A Graphic History of Racist Ideas in America by Ibram X. Kendi, and Earthdivers by Stephen Graham Jones.

Mystery Book Club

Are you a fan of all things creepy and curious? Join us as we read, share, and talk shop about the mystery books that intrigue us!

Examples of books we have read include: Symphony of Secrets by Brendan Slocumb, Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney, Root of All Evil by Liz Milliron, and Blacktop Wasteland by S.A.Cosby.

Building Community Book Club

Join us for a new kind of book club where we will read nonfiction titles together and discuss how their subject matter impacts the world and our community in particular. We will focus on titles that explore social justice, environmental justice, mutual aid, and so on. Our goal is to learn how to build community together!

Turn of the Page Book Club

Read buzz-worthy books with us across fiction and nonfiction alike!

Examples of books we have read include: The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennett, Anxious People by Fredrik Backman, The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters, and The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah.

Line by Line Book Club

Join us as we read and discuss poetry collections together! Whether you are new to poetry or are a poetry aficionado, we hope that you will join us.

Book Club FAQs

How do I join a book club?

All you have to do to be a part of our book clubs is read the monthly book and visit the library on the designated day to discuss it with others! If you miss a month, no worries! Come whenever you can.

How do I get the book?

You can put a copy on hold for yourself, but we also have a limited number of each book behind the front desk that you can request in-person!

Does it cost anything to join?

Nope! All of our book clubs are completely free to join, no registration required!
