Zine Collection
About the Collection
Our Zine Collection is an internal collection featuring zines donated to the library. We have over 300 zines in our collection at present. All zines must be read inside of the library and do not circulate like our other materials.
Each zine is stored in a comic book sleeve for ease of access and to protect the materials.
Our zines are organized into categories to ensure the collection is browse-able.
Our zine categories are:
- Activism – Zines with a call to action about a particular topic. Includes individual stories as well as informational bits.
- Arts & Literature – Zines featuring photography, art, collage, and literary analysis.
- Comics – Zines that are comics. Any zine that is a comic, whether or not they would fit into another category, will be located here.
- DIY/How-To – Zines that are informational and describe how to do something.
- Games – Zines featuring instructions for games or zines that are playable themselves.
- Health & Wellness – Zines featuring physical and/or mental health topics.
- Local – Zines centered around Pennsylvania and/or Pittsburgh.
- Personal – Zines focused on someone’s personal experience with a topic.
- Prose – Zines with poetry or prose as their main focus.
- Stories – Zines sharing a narrative of some sort, either fiction or nonfiction.
